Supreme Court Decision

Well, the Supreme Court today upheld that life begins before conception and that corporations are people with religious beliefs.  It will be interesting to see how that plays out in the future.  I suppose it’s possible that corporations can someday refuse blood transfusions, life saving surgery, psychiatric care and the like on religious basis.  For a country that’s supposed to have a wall of separation between church and state, church is taking over.  I think we are beginning to look like a Muslim country where moral laws are imposed upon the people. I am beginning not to see a distinction between us and those who we fight to preserve our “freedom”.  Freedom, which, I see has been eroding scandalously since the last administration.

Our government upholds the rights of sperm, yet has been responsible for the death of millions of people in the Middle East. Who allows its citizens to be armed to the point where it’s unsafe for our children to go to school.  Who would have ever thought, back when I was a school girl in the 50s, it wouldn’t be safe to be in school?  All we had to worry about was the ubiquitous nuclear war.  Hmmm, humanity, are you really so enlightened?  We call indigenous cultures and the animal kingdom backwards, but who lives in accordance with natural law, and who does everything to destroy this planet?

Well, I need to get off my soapbox, but I’m scared. I’ve watched it all eroding over the last 20 years, as religion seeped its way into our government like raw sewage into a stream.  It’s scares me to death.
